2014 MLC Sprinter Campus Fun Run

The 2014 edition of the Sprinter Campus Fun Run (yes, you can also walk) will take place on homecoming Saturday, September 27. Last year, over 230 Sprinters ran in the 3rd annual edition. This year's 1 mile course begins at the Sprinter statue just off the Cross Lot between the gymnasium and the Chapel of the Christ. Grab some friends, get some exercise, and enjoy a refreshing start to a full, fall day of fun.

Pre-registration is now open! There is no cost to participate, but only pre-registered participants are eligible for one of the many campus and community door prizes. Some of the door prizes we have this year are from CashWise, Target, George's Steak House, Kwik Trip, Perkins, Subway, McDonald's, Burger King and It Works.

T-shirts are again available for purchase for those who pre-register by Sept 17. This year's shirt will be lime green and will feature the Sprinter and his fellow racers sprinting past Luther Statue and our beloved Centennial Hall. Adult cost is $8. Those 18 and under pay just $6 (even if they wear adult sizes).

All participants should plan to arrive between 8:30 and 8:45 to sign in at the Luther Student Center near the gym. Door prizes will be drawn at 8:50 sharp (must be pre-registered, present, and signed in to win). Upon completion of the race, stick around for free juice boxes, bottled water, and fruit snacks. MLC soccer and football teams will be in action that day and a host of other events are scheduled for the weekend. See the MLC website for the full slate of activities.

The course is flat (no steps or hills) and family friendly (strollers & wagons welcome)...only a very small portion is on grass. The map below shows the exact route. If you haven't seen the beautiful campus in a while, this is the opportune time to check it out!
